Feds Propose Overturning EPA Climate Regulations
August 1, 2025
The Trump administration plans to curb the Environmental Protection Agency’s regulation of the greenhouse gas emissions widely linked to climate change, NPR reports. The change would likely boost the importance of the kind of community-level climate mitigation efforts that Jalonne L. White-Newsome describes in Issues. The need is especially great in socially vulnerable communities, she writes, and the key is forming partnerships of residents, scientists, industry, philanthropy, and, yes, government. Citing specific examples, she argues that “intentional partnerships” have successfully transformed policy and practice to improve health and well-being for both individuals and the larger communities.
