Australia Beefing Up Military Might

Australia is rethinking its science and technology policies and experimenting with new models, partly in response to the shifting geopolitics involving its traditional ally, the United States, and its up-and-coming trade partner, China, an official of the Australian National University observes in Issues. As a new case in point, Australia has announced plans to buy a contingent of long-range anti-ship missiles to strengthen its current forces and to develop even more advanced technologies, including hypersonic weapons, cyber systems, and satellite networks, to meet future defense challenges.
