Challenges Facing Cultured Meat

Meat produced from animal cells in factories could help solve a variety of problems, including feeding a hungry world and slowing climate change, and society should look deeply at this nascent industry, two technology analysts noted in Issues after the first alt-burger debuted. One problem in the way, a food scientist now reports, is that scaling up production of cultured meat is proving tough, and the government might need to start funding research and other support efforts to help the industry lower production costs and bring a variety of products to market.
